The Flowers are Blooming

I have finally found time to post again. Yeaahhh!! We have been so busy in little Higgston, Ga. lately. My sister had her baby. So, of course, we have been spending a lot of time getting tons of baby sugar. Poor thing!!! As Arlie says, "He is just too cute Mama". She loves her brand new baby cousin. I have been so proud of her. Most kids would be so jealous. Not my little sometimes angel. She has been so helpful when she goes over there. She especially loves the diaper genie. Haha.

Anyway back to business, I recently finished some hair clips that I have posted today on artfire.com. There are three of them. Here they are:


Arlie loves all her little flowers I have been making her. To prove how well they stay in her hair I will give you an example. We went to my neice"s beauty pageant last Thursday night. I had fixed one just for Arlie's outfit that night. She really put it to the test. The pageant was at 7:00 p.m. That is normally our bath time and then we go to bed about 8:00p.m. Well you know we did not get out of the pageant at 8:00. It was more like 9:30. So she wiggled the whole time. She went back and forth between my husband and I so many times that I lost count. Her flower totally stayed not the least bit wilted. So, I continued to make some more. If anyone is interested in a certain color or size just let me know. The ones that I posted on artfire measure 2 1/2 inches and then the two smaller ones measure 1 1/2 inches. Go check them out!!!!

New Item for Sale!!!!!

I have finally finished something else. It seems like everything is so crazy lately. Between Arlie's school and all the Easter parties coming up, it seems like I can't get everything done. Anyway, here is the new item. I think it is too cute. My daughter inspired me with this bib. First, she absolutely loves pink and butterflies. So I just put it together. I hope everyone enjoys it!!!

New Item For Sale (Baby Pacifier Clip)

Today I am posting a new item that I have added to our studio. It is an adorable paci clip. I know all those mothers out there know how bad it is when you lose your baby's pacifier. It is definitely classified as a high level meltdown.

I made this using some scrap material I had left over from one of my daughter's skirts. I also used a pink ribbon for securing the pacifier to the clip. Then it has a clip on the end so that you can hook to a carseat or whatever is the closest to your baby. It measures 8 1/2 inches long and about 3/4 inch wide. I hope you all go check out our studio. Baby Bib Tutorial (My First Tutorial)

Hey! My sister Leslie is expecting a baby boy on May 1. I have been trying to think of things to make him that will be from his Aunt Brittany. Leslie's husband is a big fan of Georgia University football. Not too many people from Georgia aren't. So of course to support their team I made a Georgia bib, just perfect for little Daniel. I would like to share how I made it.


First of all, I would like to give credit to McCall's, which is where I got the pattern from. The number on the pattern is M5604. You could also trace a bib that your child has outgrown to kind of give you an idea of what size you are looking for.

Here are the supplies that you will need:
-sewing machine
-fabric of your choice
-batting
-thread
-scissors
-sew on velcro fasteners

First I cut out my material and batting.








Next, I put the right sides of my fabric together and layered my batting next. I did this so that when you turn you bib, your fabric will be on the outside and your batting will be on the inside. Note: Do not forget to leave an opening for turning. Once you stitch this togeth,then turn you bib. Next slip stitch your bib. Then stitch your Velcro on for fastening the bib. That is all. Now you have made a meaningful gift for a special bundle straight from heaven.

I would like to welcome everyone to my blog. I have never blogged at all before so please bear with me. First, I would like to start off with how I was introduced to crafts. My Mema started us off at an early age. When I was about eight years old she taught my sister, my cousin, and I how to make things out of plastic canvas. We made ornaments, tissue boxes, and all kinds of things.
Since then I have taught myself how to crochet, sew, and embroider. I plan to list several tutorials and ideas. I hope you all will enjoy my blog.
